Investment Banking - Credit Risk

Process: XP

Casual Miracles has for several years been helping a major London investment bank to develop a Credit Risk solution, to address points raised by Basel II external auditors.

The solution involves building a family of products including a web-application for the management of counter-party credit limits and a Java Swing application for management of excesses to limits. The applications integrate with each other and with several other bank systems to provide over 3000 employees a workflow system that satisfies Basel II requirements.

By developing the products in an iterative way, with new versions released every two to six weeks, Casual Miracles has enabled all stakeholders to regularly contribute requirements for the applications. This challenging strategy can only be implemented successfully by a high quality process of continuous improvement in analysis, implementation and communication between the stakeholders. A Casual Miracles speciality!

Our role in this development has been extensive; helping business analysts to establish the users' problems and analyse requirements; working with internal developers to develop the solution; helping with recruitment; training users and maintaining a high quality process throughout.
