Van Emmenis

Van has over 25 years of software architecture, design and development experience in financial markets, investment banking, internet technologies, object databases, computer aided design and the ministry of defence.

He is vastly experienced in large scale software development, team leadership and customer contact in both pre and post sales consulting.

Van lectures on Internet technologies for the British Computer Society and throughout his career has been a mentor to his fellow developers.

He once worked in the R & D group at the MoD Mapping and Charting working on applications supporting the work of cartographers. He then moved into Computer Aided Design, designing and building 2D graphics systems and supporting language interpreters. At Gemstone he worked with international financial organisations in Europe and South Africa on n-tier web applications, distributed object systems and object databases.

More recently, Van has worked in the financial markets using a wide variety of Java, C++ and internet technologies.

Franck Rasolo

Frank has 10 years experience of software architecture, design and development in financial markets, investment banking, meteorology, media and internet technologies. A committed proponent of Agile Methods of software development he is active in a number of open source projects.

Franck has recently worked on credit risk systems at BNP Paribas and a workflow system to ensure FSA compliance at UBS Warburg. Earlier, he worked on the FA Premier League's high performance football statistics engine, implemented significant parts of FT.com's portal and built training software for tropical hurricane identification for Meteo France.

Paul Allton

Paul has a decade of software architecture, design and development experience in financial markets, investment banking, expert systems and internet technologies. He is a practitioner and advisor in Agile Methods of software development and is active in a number of open source projects.

Paul has recently worked in the financial markets on three credit risk systems at BNP Paribas, a reference data system at Capco and a static data management system at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. Earlier, he was a consultant on a rule-based expert system with the Ivis Group, and a CRM system for British Airways.

Paul has been working with Java technologies since 2000, including the full J2EE stack on application servers such as Websphere, JBoss and Tomcat, and with technologies including Hibernate, Swing, Eclipse RCP, TopLink, Sybase, Oracle and MySQL. Iyad Issa

Iyad has 13 years of software architecture, design and development experience in bio-engineering, car leasing, financial data analysis, visualization, telephony, media and training. He is an advocate of advanced software development techniques such as Aspect Oriented Programming and is a mentor in Agile Methods.

Iyad's most recent work has been for Siemens Business Services Media, developing cutting edge visualization tools for the BBC for graphical configuration and scheduling of news resources. Earlier, he worked at NetDecisions architecting and building on-line shopping applications and content management systems. He was staff mentor in Java and Object Oriented technologies.

Iyad has worked for IBM Global Services and Cable & Wireless, devising a telephone switch data processing project to enable billing, fraud detection, traffic analysis and other downstream systems.

Iyad has worked with Java technologies since its first release in 1995 including the full J2EE stack on a number of application servers and with technologies including Swing, SWT, Hibernate, Sybase, Oracle, MySQL and XML. He has a particular interest in Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Aspect Oriented Programming and multi-threaded applications.

Iyad has helped many teams to improve their software development process with the introduction of Agile Methods. He is particularly adept in training his co-workers in methods and technologies that dramatically improve his projects.
